  THE DEATH OF STALIN is one of my favorite movies so far of 2018. Armando Iannucci, the creator and showrunner of VEEP, presents the ousting and power vacuum after Stalin's death as a farce of hilarious proportions. It's horrifying as it is funny in the way it presents the absurdity of authoritarianism. The performances are pitch perfect comedy, but Simon Russell Beale really steals the show. He has to get nominated for Best Supporting Role.

  The first time I watched Tar, I thought it was slow, boring and overrated. The second time I watched Tar I thought it was slow, boring and maybe th best movie of the decade.
