I haven’t seen the documentary which means I have nothing to compare it to, but watching knowing nothing about Tammy Faye and her heartbreakingly whirlwind life took me aback. The performances were incredible across the board anchored by Jessica Chastain’s depth. I cried many times throughout the picture, mainly because of Chastain’s look into the heart of Tammy. A wonderful picture of the remarkable Tammy Faye.

Nightmare Alley 2021
The vibe and world Del Toro imagines makes this watchable. There were several chapters that didn’t feel fully explored, which in return didn’t leave the characters completely connected, which made The Shape of Water so special. Nevertheless another strong piece of cinema, if not a tad too long.
