There’s a cleanliness here that for me, doesn’t ring quite true about the how tides of life shift, especially for those of us that can’t afford to grieve quietly in the confines of an exquisite British farm in the countryside. But John Crowley triumphs here in his ability to illustrate how dizzying and painful and devastating it is to dance with mortality especially when held up beside the joyous moments in our lives.
