  Pleasantly surprised by this, as I had expected some troubles-chic but the couple getting off on shouting sectarian insults, and the references to Japanese soldiers on islands still thinking the war is on, plus the hilarious  Radical Republicans Against Drugs,  all struck me that kneecap are in on the joke……clever and funny

  As popcorn cinema goes this was fun and honestly a lot better done than I expected, but it’s less a critique of the beauty industry than a horror story of what happens when it goes wrong, the movie luxuriates in leering at Demi’s younger self and gasps horror at her aging…trapped in this movie is a real insight that your younger self will act short sightedly and in so doing make your older self look like crap, and that feels very true to me!
