Witty and poignant. Pattinson’s performance is next to none, except maybe Pattinson. The fact that a film about a printed human and space tardigrades is relevant to our own lives is a sad, sad thought.

The Witch 2015
Before I even write anything else: the sound in this film is one of the greatest, most fulfilling masterclasses in cinema scoring and sound design.
I watched this film back in 2018 and I remember that I loved it. I definitely praised the sound back then and most certainly sang its praises when it came to the intense, Tarkovsky-like camerawork that's present all throughout the feature. Until recently it stayed that way, and that was that.

A well overdue review, I am sure some of you have died from held breaths. I had no clue what this was about going into the cinema (Wizard of Oz-related aside) as I have never seen the play, nor have I read the book. That's right- there is a book. Yeah, it's news to me too.
