Panic Room 2002
It's about fucking time this thing got a proper home release in the last 20-some years. The new UHD is pretty great.
It has been quite some time since I've seen this but re-watching it, I just sat there exclaiming over and over after scene after scene: HOLY FUCK, THE MAN CAN DIRECT!!!
(Best scene in the entire film is Yoakam coldly dropping Leto to the floor with a shot to the skull. I'll cheer every time)

Really and as we all know, Glen Powell makes this movie.
...however, despite obviously advanced special effect work here, I never truly felt the same 'horror' as I did in the '96 picture. There was much more widespread destruction, yet emotionally I never felt the actual natural beast that these things are and were not entirely 'respected' in the same way they were in the first.

It's possible I'm an excellent friend because I bravely agreed to see this with 2 of my closest ones despite having almost zero desire to see it.
Both absolutely loved it, I was fucking miserable for 2 hours but when it finished, I let them have that moment and joy and I just simply said nah, wasn't for me.
