It is nuts how delicately this teeters on the verge of exactly the kind of watchable heartwarming trash I love without QUITE doing it ... I think the issues are:
* I watch everything with that polar bear in it and need to stop doing that
* maybe give Lucy Liu more things to do
* the Scrooge figure (Chris Evans) is a hacker so why doesn't he release bahumbug.exe at some point

Wait hear me out. Obviously it's really bad. The dialogue is atrocious. It acts all sciencey and then the science is like "gravity is magic." In the context of real world climate change, the politics mostly suck, villainising the focus on feeding people and caring for the environment, and going all in on techno bro space colonisation fantasy. The plot doesn't make sense. It's hard to hear what they're saying.
But it has a lot of beauty too. The asterisk…
