Castle in the Sky 1986
Another fantastic Ghibli about environmental conservation, and the cost of war and violence. I loved the subtlety and the positive spin on the pirates. Also interesting to see a lot of visual and musical similarities to other Ghibli films!

This movie never fails to floor me, such an incredibly moving and powerful story of love and human determination, wrapped in a mind blowing sci-fi package! I love all of the instances of subtle foreshadowing, particularly in the small conversations that hint to later character traits and decisions! A gorgeous film through and through, what more can I say that hasn’t already been said?

A Bug's Life 1998
This movie is so much fun, and has a great message about class struggle! I think this is by far one of the funniest Pixar films, and the plot takes a lot of interesting twists and turns that helps really sell the story. I love all the characters and feel nothing is a wasted effort.
