If you have seen Fight Club before watching this film I would not recommend. Christian Bale does a great job, shaping his body and personality into an eery character and did well at personifying insomnia, but otherwise I felt this movie was confusing and even annoyed me at some points with how mediocre it was. Outside of Bale’s great acting, movie was alright at best, ending did SOMEWHAT surprise me in a good way though which I did not expect.
A film which perfectly encapsulates obsession from Miles Teller and his battles with J.K. Simmons. Pacing was fantastic and the ending was great. Minimal flaws to this movie and for those who are skeptical due to its focus on jazz music, do not shy away. Amazing and emotional watch all the way through.
One of my favorite’s of all time. First watch was mind-blowing, second allowed me to recognize the subtle nuisances thrown into the film and made it all that much better. Norton and Pitt were amazing, MUST-watch, no questions about it.
Borderline perfect from start to finish, although known as a cult-classic for “frat guys” this is seriously one of the best films of its generation. Leo was robbed of an Oscar for his performance here and Jonah Hill was fantastic in his supporting role. The first thirty minutes was peak cinema and even McConaughey‘s ten minute ‘cameo’ was great. Storyline developed fantastically, even while being on the longer side of the film spectrum, there is no lack of engagement to the audience. One of Scorsese’s best.
