I don't really understand all the negativity surrounding this film. Yes it had a ridiculous budget that's not really justified by the end product but the same is true for countless Marvel films.

If you ignore the production cost it isn't that bad, at least not for a kids film which is really what it is. I have a feeling it is confusing some people as to who the target audience is because it is more like a kids film…

Essential viewing for any horror fan. This movie truly broke new ground in the genre and is the template for countless higher budget but less successful films. The protagonists don't feel like actors and seem genuinely scared. It's a very low budget film feeling like a student project. It drags at times but this also helps build the tension and fear. Add all of this to the amazing guerrilla marketing campaign of the time, that really pushed the found footage narrative, and you have a cultural phenomenon.

It's a cult classic and the bloodiest movie you will ever see. Lots of fun but very budget and a little repetitive.

A steaming turd of a film.

The end credits remind you how good the old X-Men films were. It's weird that this seems to be a film by Disney about how Disney destroyed everything that was good about 20th Century Fox, I don't think that's very funny like everything else about this movie.

I'll give it one star at for the hours that Hugh Jackman must have put in at the gym.
