Alien: Romulus 2024
This movie is basically for the Gen Alpha audience who will likely think watching the original 1979 film is mid with no drip. Like where’s the CGI, brother? Does that mean that it was bad? No, not at all. It’s essentially a recycled version but with much more context as it alludes to the past films from its cinematic universe. Personally, I’m not too keen on using elements of fan service to make a new body of work authentic but hey, whatever makes them yeet I guess. I’ll still give it a 4 out of 5 because seeing Xenomorphs is always a big W.

Apocalypse Z: The Beginning of the End 2024
I always appreciate zombie movies that emphasize telling more human stories rather than running from fearful hordes through the entire runtime. Albeit, this movie does include it. You’ll be impressed by the main protagonist’s survival skills, moved by a brave sacrifice, and be annoyed with the cat. Other than that, the overall story started strong but ultimately fell short. Nonetheless, if you appreciate the zombie movie genre, it’s still worth a watch.
