  Kinda hated it tbh. Big studio meddling vibes on this one — everything felt confused from the very beginning. Character motivations make no sense, characterization is rough. Mark Ruffalo’s character felt like such a cheap, obvious Trump analogue with no sauce and no motivation. By the end I just didn’t care. Very disappointed considering I loved Snowpiercer and Parasite. Giving it a full star for Robert Pattinson’s performance, the guy’s the real deal.

I’m a huge fan of the original and I can’t believe I like the sequel just as much.   oh man audiences must’ve hated that one. is there a better stand-in for the American psyche of the 70’s than Dr. Dan Challis? don’t super dig the 4th wall stuff but that’s ok. maybe my fave Carpenter score? I loved the shocking violence. anyway
