The film really deftly paints a portrait of a family and shows how the death of a loved one creates ripples through the tapestry of the interconnectedness of all things. This was an amazing (and not always so happy) journey into the lives of the people of Bhutan through the lens of a truly unique government system and the people who administer the survey.
I had heard about Gross National Happiness (GNH) for years, and cited it's existence as a "fun fact" about Bhutan, but never really knew how it worked or what it really measured.
