Contrary to his absolute mindblowingly scary debut film, McCarthy is a lot more playful with the genre in his follow up. While Oddity starts in a similar spirit as his previous film, the latter half of the film, although a fun conclusion that utilise tropes set in the horror genre, sadly becomes a bit predictible and definitely less scary than the excellent and terrifying first half of the film.
