Silent Hill 2006
A film this dumb and bad shouldn’t have vibes this good.
The characters are all idiots, the film is full of painful exposition but the visuals are great, the music is phenomenal and the feel of the video games is translated very well in a number of scenes.
Still kinda bad.

Avengers: Endgame 2019
I credit this film with breaking the spell that superhero films - MCU in particular - had held me in for a good five or so years.
The film is, somehow, both visually dull and cluttered. The intersection of a brown and orange colour palette combined with the "everyone runs at each other in a line" trope of the big finale had me in stitches. Infinite money and some of the strongest actors in the business cannot save you from trite, boring swill.
Anyway thanks for letting me enjoy real films again, I guess the music was pretty great.

The Beast of War 1988
An underrated gem and a must watch for anyone who enjoys a war drama.
More focused on personal drama and motivation than the wider ideals of the USSR or Mujahadeen, it's a powerful and immersive story about revenge, pig-headedness and blind idealism in the face of material conditions.
To it's credit the film considers both the USSR and Mujahadeen as complex, multifaceted peoples, as opposed to the typical goodies and baddies of western cinema.
The action scenes are well scattered…
