This movie rocked n’ rolled…just don’t tell that to the Newport Folk Festival attendees.

This movie was incredibly disturbing, deeply depraved, and wickedly thrilling.

My eyes were transfixed on the screen, but appalled at what they were seeing. I know the French (or in this case French-Canadians) have a reputation for incredibly sick horror, but this movie disturbed me on an even deeper level than films such as Raw or Martyrs. I feel like I need to take a shower after this one…

This is just a classic edge of your seat thriller!

The way the film is shot makes you feel just as claustrophobic, uncomfortable, and tense as our protagonists. This tension is only heightened by incredible performances from Woody Harrelson, Simu Liu, and Finn Cole. They accomplish what so many actors strive for but often fail to achieve—they come across as real, ordinary people. I can’t overstate this enough, as it’s precisely this “realness” that serves as the driving force behind all the emotion and triumph you feel while watching the events unfold.

A great film and an even greater story!

Full of refreshing originality, dark humor, and refined CGI (which is all too rare these days), this film has a lot to offer. However, the movie is held back by a severe lack of focus. There were plot-lines that went nowhere and performances that seemed straight out of Looney Toons (looking at you, Mark Ruffalo).

In sum, it is an above-average Sci-Fi Film…but that doesn’t mean it couldn’t of been even better with some more time in the editing room (and Mark Ruffalo’s actor trailer).
