Avatar: The Way of Water is a stunning visual achievement, but ultimately much of it's storytelling falls flat. The characters are basically just caricatures, models of characters we've seen hundreds of times in films and little is done to give them any room to grow.

Still processing, but this movie immersed me in its story in ways few films ever have. It would likely take me many many viewings to fully understand the things it is try to say, but it's a beautiful film with an incredible performance from Dev Patel and despite it's bizarre story and structure I can't help but love it.
