The bard has no bounds. Beautifully moving story, and loved the authenticity of the RTA alums playing themselves, alongside a dynamic performance from Colman Domingo and Clarence Maclin.

The Brutalist 2024
The praise of being a new entry to film’s history of great epics was well warranted. Its reconceptualization of the American Dream, exploring the horrors our great marketers conveniently undersell, provides for a harrowing story of how this country can treat its new dreamers with a brutal reality. Great performances and even better cinematography made this fly-by in terms of runtime.

Watched after Roger Stone’s tweet about how great Jeremy Strong’s performance is… checks out. He and Stan are great throughout.

A Complete Unknown 2024
They filmed most of this in my neighborhood in Jersey City to capture 60s New York, so that’s cool. Chalamet is entirely convincing with the singing/playing, but less so in portraying Dylan’s enigma. I’d credit that to a fairly bare bones script that feels more like a Wikipedia page than a compelling story. But the performances, all around, were great, especially the cameo from Holbrook’s Cash.
