A goosebump inducing, harrowing film that reminds you of what manmade horrors humans are capable of, that are truthfully beyond our comprehension.

The Zone of Interest, follows a very loose narrative that heavily focused on almost the ‘Day-to-Day’ life of one the commanders of the SS and his psychotic family (minus the kids)

Without context, Hoss is somewhat likeable for the first 10 minutes of this film, until it unravels and the eeriness increases. The juxtaposition of the ‘Day-to-Day’ problems…

Directed Mr Ocean’s 11 (george clooney-san) - unfortunately this man is no Clint Easty. After reading up about the source material and the IRL events themselves - I feel like this movie had the basis to be a very motivational, aspirational, awe inspiring movie. Benedict Cumberbatch, Jodie Foster produce a gripping and raw account of the atrocities committed by USA Gov with the aftermath of 9/11. Tahar Rahunof does all the heavy lifting, puts on a display with his portrayal of the life of Mohamedou Ould Slahi, great actor and nice to see him take on a lead role in a movie with such a heavy subject matter.

A sad portrayal of addiction, dependence and the residual effects, emotionally and physically to those surrounded by alcohol/alcoholics. Andrea Risenborough so eloquent portraying a lost soul who has had a fall from grace after winning the lottery.

Some nice cinematography too, good use of lighting (ice cream shop shot towards the end of the movie springs to mind) - overall a 8.5/10!
