2001: A Space Odyssey 1968
Film is art. Yes, some movies are down right terrible and can’t really be defined as art. If you have a Citizen Kane, you’re bound to have an Emoji Movie. If you have The Godfather, You’re bound to have a Cool Cat Saves the Kids. But, if we look at one film that can be truly define the statement of film is art, look no further than Stanley Kubrick’s masterpiece “2001: A Space Odyssey”.

Taxi Driver 1976
“TRAVIS BICKLE, age 26, lean, hard, the consummate loner. Uncut Gems 2019
The tortured life of Howard. The Safdie brothers create a stressful psychedelic experience that leaves you on the edge of your seat every time it cuts to a new scene. Adam Sandler was a gem himself in the film and it’s a fucking shame he wasn’t nominated for an Oscar for this. A lot of other people do terrific jobs. Julia Fox, Kevin Garnett, and Eric Bogosian are perfect here. There are some characters that you really want to punch…

Hamilton 2020
Fucking amazing! Been a fan since 2017, and watched it when it was on tour. Watched with family now and I gotta say, it’s never looked so great! The original cast is insane! Lin, Leslie, Daveed, everyone does a fantastic job. The camera work is surprisingly well-done. Focusing on the little things and lighting are brilliant. So with the quarantine still rampaging, it’s confirmed Lin Manuel and Disney didn’t throw away their shot!
