  Televisual and by-the-numbers, but I’d be lying if I said that there weren’t interesting moments. In truth, it didn’t really feel like a film. It felt in part like a low budget TV documentary, and in other parts like an advert for NCAP. Not a great piece of work by any stretch, in spite of Mosley, who is certainly an interesting subject for a documentary.

  I guess I just don’t find it easy to empathise…

  It’s Marty ★, sitting in a cinema ★, talking about Powell and Pressburger ★, telling the story of their lives ★, and analysing their greatest works of cinematic art ★.

  Could’ve been twice as long, and still not enough. I hope the BluRay comes with the two British telly docs, A Pretty British Affair and the edition of The South Bank Show about Powell, that some of the archive material was sourced from.
