i struggle to find the right words to throughly explain this. a journalist documents the battle of aleppo, her story is told for her young daughter who lived her first year of life amidst the chaos. the barberity is beyond imagination, and no one is safe. the scenes of dead children and grieving parents are beyond description. i'm not entirely sure what moral to draw from this film.

In the Name of the Father 1993
this and elephant man remain the only two films to make me cry despite me literally knowing the ending.

Before Sunrise 1995
love is a beautiful thing. it can be fucking ugly still, and break your feelings like a wrench, but there's really nothing like it. i wish i went out more on my own. god only knows what i'm missing out on out there.
