Blade Runner 2049 2017
Probably one of the best sci fi epics to come out of the last decade. Every technical aspect of the film compliments and enhances the story, theme and tone.
The fact that this is a sequel made decades after the original and somehow shown the respect and gravitas that the original story and concept deserves… gyattdamn.
Now I have seen a miracle!

A History of Violence 2005
A few great scenes save this movie from a bad experience. Special effects and Cronenburg’s typical indulgence in gore are sparse but effectively used, making way for a ‘normal’ movie experience, unlike many other of the directors features.
William Hurt eats the third act for breakfast. Yum yum.
