  I hate horror movies so I didn’t expect to enjoy this one… made my religious schizophrenia-paranoia flare up but it was well worth it.
  been a while since I watched it but I just remember being floored by the writing, the performances, the effects, the lighting design !! Whew. In the way that it’s hard to make things that are truly funny, it’s hard to make things that truly frighten and unnerve you…. I think this movie hit it out of the park.

  Do NOT let that white twig of a man into your bed
  —he just wants to suck all the life out of you!!!

  The DESIGN??? Made this movie SPECTACULAR. Stellar, stellar, stellar design. Lights, sound, sets, costume, hair, makeup, graphics, even the damn TYPEFACE! Inspiring! The amount of dramaturgy and care and stylization is so evident. Not sure how accurate it all was (English speakers in Germany?) hence the emphasis on stylization…

  Don’t let men write AND direct. Especially not…
