Feels like a watching an old Christmas movie with the family, not extraordinary in any way at all but pretty much perfectly done. No real flaws here and the lack of the typical forced emotionality of cheesy christmas movies makes this really good.

The Iron Claw 2023
Having two brothers myself, this movie captures the essence of brotherhood in a way I haven't seen before. Is this 'technically speaking' a 4/5 movie? Not really, the camera is good but not amazing, the pace is fine but sometimes a bit off. This completely lives of emotions and they got that so right. 100% captured the emotionality of brotherly love in Zac Efron's acting, this is just so genuine and real. Cried at the end, loved it.

Ein Film, der schon von der ersten Dialogszene an nervt. Gestelzte Dialoge, Bilder die einfach total nach Filmset aussehen. Dazu passt die völlig konstruiert wirkende Story. Dem entgegenzusetzen hat Je suis Karl eigentlich nur starke schauspielerische Darbietungen der Hauptdarsteller*innen. Lieber ein Geschichtsbuch öffnen, Kapitel 1918-1936, gleicher Inhalt ohne den ganzen Kitsch.

A mix between weird af, pretentious-artsy and really funny at times. Nothing very special, but actually very entertaining, and also Jacob Elordi can actually act pretty well, which was new to me. Really loved the cut and camera, also the sets look cool. Barry Keoghan is spot on in this too.
