  A Short Film About Love 1988

  Intriguing from beginning to end. The things I expected to happen never did, so it was constantly surprising. It felt quite strange to see how these couple so different in almost every way start to meet, but then you understand that their sense of loneliness is what makes them conect at a deeper level. That's how I interpreted it anyway. Loved it.

  I find it such a shame that Víctor Erice couldn't finish El Sur the way he envisioned it, I personally think it would've added up to an alraeady amazing film. Maybe the only thing I didn't felt was totally necessary was Estrella's narration in as a grown up. Still, it is a captivating and emotional film, full small details and unique rythm. The magical use of light and the few, but efective, camera movements, makes the cinematography of El Sur an astounding piece of art.
