It’s not Raiders of the Lost Ark (few films are) but it’s a lot of fun nonetheless.

The movie doesn’t fully work but there are some really impressive sequences (which is to be expected from Spielberg) and Bale is giving his an impressive performance for his first movie part but it’s funny to see that all his tics that irk me so much are already there at such a young age.

    The Taste of Things

A pretentious, ugly film where actors struggle with incredibly bad dialogue. The directing is flashy but lacks any ideas. The movie indulges in an outdated and old-fashioned vision of France, emphasizing a love for “GOOD CUISINE.” However, all the dishes look disgusting.

    *********
