I fell asleep it’s really not that good. The songs and the sets were brilliant but this was a play written before the constitution and it’s just so plain in movie format. It’s charming but there’s no real story here

What can you say. It’s Forrest Gump. I could dive into an analysis about how the movie is really holding a mirror up to the patriarchy in America by focusing on Forrest when the movie is really about Jenny and how disconnected she is from her life due to the abuse in early childhood and how when she gets up on that balcony to consider suicide you can hear the chopper sounds from Vietnam which reflect how every day is…

Our grandparents had James Bond our parents had die hard and we have Carry on. This is how you take inspiration from a movie and don’t make it boring. There’s little to criticise about this movie apart from the fact it gets too actiony. Really would have loved to see a further battle of wits like the first half of the movie, and really dived into the dynamic between the main character and villain but it does have to appeal to a major audience. Really well written and smart

My dad wanted me to watch this movie and I think it’s because he can relate to it in a way. The movie does a good job of showcasing the almost dystopian nature of Suburban Britain. It’s a good movie. Funny when it needs to be, wholesome, with a feel good plot up until the end like many of these British movies from this era go. Would recommend if you like dead poets society. Also almost shit myself when James Corden showed up
