We live in time has a decidedly upbeat tone for a movie about something so devastating. Its celebration of joy is definitely something to respect, but it seemed caught between a more comprehensive exploration of being terminally ill and an ode to joy in the face of tragedy. I think there was more room to explore the theme of being in the now and celebrating joy than it really ended up doing.
Great acting from great actors, but personally it fell a bit flat for me.
Came for the vibe, stayed for the vibe, aesthetic masterpiece.
While at times this movie is very on-the-nose, I think its overall balance of humor, sarcasm, and the chance to see our world from the perspective of an outsider provides a great middle ground between mass marketability and enough overt social commentary to inspire introspection among watchers.
