I feel I am far more in love with the idea of Mickey 17 than its execution. The first third is promising; to quote Dracula: ‘What is a man? A miserable pile of secrets.’ The secret in question is a copy. Of you. This is ground ripe for psychological exploration. Or more haha funny ethics discussions. Instead, the final act devolved into a medley of Don’t Look Up and Avatar. Where are the soul crushing examinations of space-ultra capitalism with some haha funnies along the way?
