The Boy and the Heron 2023
Miyazaki is a fucking legend!! Every time I watch one of his films, I’m overcome with a sense of childlike wonder. I also love the themes of acceptance and abandonment explored in this movie. Navigating such topics through the lens of the adolescent makes emotions more exaggerated but also more powerful.
The other world Mahito is transported to is absolutely gorgeous and teeming with imagination. Every new character that was introduced felt so unique and beautifully crafted.
Amazing movie. Miyazaki has done it again!

Never paid more attention to a movie in my life. But seriously, aside from my undying love for Zendaya, I loved the tennis aspect a lot. I hate Patrick’s smirk. I kinda hate the whole triangle tbh. Like all of them. I did not like the conclusion of the movie at all. They either all needed to have sex or Art needs to leave Tashi. Idk the whole thing was just kinda messy and didn’t go anywhere in the end. …
