Seeing it in a cinema (even though it was the Final Cut and not my preferred Theatrical) has cemented it firmly into my top four. It's structurally incredible, portrays the dichotomy of awe and terror in a deliriously brilliant way and, above all, can be marvelled at in a 'I can't believe they made this' sort of way. It's a great movie that rewards multiple rewatches, has challenging characters and themes, and can simply be enjoyed as spectacle

Isle of Dogs 2018
A little slight for a Wes Anderson picture, but it still has a lot of the trademarks that make his movies special. Very strange watching Bryan Cranston voice a dog while I'm just getting to the end of Breaking Bad. Was half expecting him to yell Jesse! at some point

Challengers 2024
Struck on this viewing by how rewatchable this movie is. At first I was just enjoying seeing some "good fucking tennis" again, but as I got deeper into the narrative I found myself caught up in the charcater drama once again. You could devote entire rewatches to single characters, get fixated on particular scenes, or just let the whole thing sweep you up. It's really good; certainly one of the best movies of last year. I get that the Academy can't nominate everything, but not even an original song nod? Something's not right there
