  Have to agree with Dario Argento on this one: "it did not excite me, it betrayed the spirit of the original film: there is no fear, there is no music."

  This 'remake' was unnecessary, extremely drawn out, completely lacking tension -and the colors, shadows, and atmosphere of the original. The historical/political subplot was a distraction and adds nothing. Dividing the movie into titled acts was just pretentious and pointless, an attempt to sound more important than it was.

  The climax had some great terrifying visuals, such a shame it was wasted on a boring story. Same with the actors, they deserved better.
