Undeniably cute but not much more to it than that. Even at a short 85 minute runtime it still overstays its welcome with repetitive segments and a lack of reason to care about what happens, relying too much on the characters being cute without much else to go off. That said it is quite pretty at times and once again it is very, very cute.

Oh boy there goes all my hope for this trilogy. This movie immediately started on the wrong foot when instead of giving him an epic introduction, Batman Beyond casually appears as part of the background and doesn't even speak. Then in every other scene he's present he pretty much doesn't speak. What is this?

The majority of the runtime is spent on characters I had no care for in scenes terribly paced, with main heroes sidelined for no reason at…

It was okay but the Tomorrowverse hasn't been fleshed out enough for a movie with this scale and concept. We see flashbacks to events that we never got to see play out in real time like the formation of the Justice League and all it did was make me wish we got to see those events properly instead.

I really hope Part 2 or Part 3 bring in DC animated properties past and present because to have a three movie event about a multiverse crisis and not utilise the wealth of animated projects that DC have would be a complete waste.

Week 32

As soon as I heard the script was online I read it immediately and while I thought it was good I knew the execution of its narrative structure and answers would make or break the final film. Thankfully Cregger's direction is just as strong as his writing, weaving multiple storylines together masterfully that furthers the mystery as we progress through every perspective, while also providing plenty of laughs and scares along the…

If Part One was an adaption of Dune then Part Two is a reinvention of Dune, elevating the franchise to new heights with a cinematic iteration that will no doubt become as definitive for the Dune franchise as the Lord of the Rings trilogy was for Tolkien's work. It is a masterpiece of science-fiction, a standout in Villenueve's stellar filmography and a movie that I know I will rewatch regularly with the same sense of awe and wonder that I had on this initial viewing.

Late Night With The Devil is a unique horror that is totally committed to its broadcast gimmick to full effect, making it one of the better (almost) found footage movies out there.

The cast of characters/guests are varied with their own quirks that add to the ensemble led by the excellent David Dastmalchian who finally gets his chance to shine in a leading role. The story/episode goes in unexpected directions with each segment building on the last really well and…

ODEON Limitless Screening

I've not been the biggest fan of the directors previous work but after how good the reviews were for Challengers I had to check it out and it did not disappoint. I never thought tennis could be sexy but here we are.

I was constantly engaged with a non-linear narrative expertly utilised to make you want to know more and while the payoff to that suspense wasn't as juicy or dramatic as I'd hoped I still really…

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga

★★★ Watched 1

I expected so much more from this. From start to finish Furiosa is a movie that struggles to justify its existence with a prequel storyline that fails to add anything meaningful to the character we saw in Fury Road and offers very little else of substance.

The entire first hour of the movie could have easily been cut with Furiosa barely featured. Even when the story finally kicks into gear it wastes time on an irrelevant romance with some bloke…

We are so fucking back. Alien: Romulus combines the best the franchise has to offer in a "greatest hits" collection that redeems the mistakes from past installments while also offering new additions to the lore to not feel like a rehash. It's a love letter to not just the first movie or the rest of Ripley's adventures, but to the likes of Ridley Scott's prequels and even Resurrection. While it's let down slightly by certain callbacks which bordered on parody…

This is one of the best sports movies I've ever seen and also one of the most gut wrenching. The filmmakers told this tragic story so well and the bond between the brothers made them so easy to root for. It's a shame Zac Efron didn't get a Best Actor nomination at the Oscars because he absolutely deserved it. Overall a rollercoaster of emotions from start to finish.

Alex Garland's Civil War doesn't quite reach the highest points of his filmography like Ex Machina but is a massive improvement over the disaster of Men. It's a movie that explores incredibly heavy and timely subject matter with some very strong imagery but never quite sticks the landing with what it's trying to say due to many themes and story elements being covered without any being given the full attention they each deserve.

Its exploration of war through the perspective…
