extremely weird rhythm/pacing in this. lots of scenes last too long. and the film overall lasts 20-30min past there being any real tension in the story.
why don't the women in this movie have any girl friends? no *way* is sophie calling dakota johnson there. and yes, i know the movie gives some excuse for this, but it's a poor one! very contrived!!! the dakota johnson character also doesn't seem to have any friends? i don't get it.

i still find aspects of the ending too saccharine but this is SO funny and quotable lol
starts with some weird pacing and has surprisingly prosaic dialog for a shakespeare adaptation (maybe a translation artifact?) but dang this has incredible atmosphere and powerful images
