Going into this movie for the fun of it will make the movie more fun for you. Personally, I like the newness of remakes/reimagining/adaptations because I don't want it to try to be its own thing. I think the Mean Girls Movie (2004) and the broadway musical were better because they were their own things. This movie couldn't decide if it wanted to be a movie or a musical.
