I literally watch this movie every year. It’s a total masterpiece. The special effects are super cool, back before there was CGI, if you wanted an alien that could morph into the shape of dogs and humans, you actually had to MAKE one. Good stuff!

What can you say about Peter Sellers in this movie? The man was a genius. Who else could play a British soldier, an American president and a German mad scientist in the same film and pull it off so brilliantly? And as if that weren’t enough, this movie also features incredible and iconic performances by a few other actors…George C. Scott, Slim Pickens, and of course Sterling Hayden, whose depiction of General Ripper is chilling, hilarious and constantly fascinating.

Other than being slightly too long, this movie is awesome! Visually stunning with brilliant performances by Ustinov, Laughton and Olivier. If you’re in the mood for an epic period piece about gladiators, look no further.

The part where Peter Sellers pretends to be a German psychologist is so incredible, I rewatched that scene three times in a row. Sellers is amazing in this, with great performances from all the other main actors too, especially James Mason. Troubling subject matter handled brilliantly by Kubrick, at times hilarious, captivating from start to finish.
