it's not so much that he "can't feel pain" as it is he's "impervious to all physical damage." turns out invincibility is a pretty good superpower!
honestly this was way better than I was expecting. they added a surprising amount of depth to Nathan's character in the first few minutes of this movie. Jack Quaid also kinda nails this one.
One of the most incoherent movies I've seen this year. Characters do stuff for no apparent reason, act in ways that are contrary to their stated motivation, and spout dialogue so heavy with exposition you might as well have just put in an old-timey text card to tell me what I needed to know.
It's such a shame because the world of The Hunger Games is so intriguing and there are so many stories you could tell in that world that would be better than this one.
