Nickel Boys 2024
Art at its best—and sometimes most challenging—is a tool for empathy. To put the viewer into the shoes of another. To make the viewer feel something they may never have felt otherwise. Nickel Boys is art at its best. And at its most challenging.
I’m very glad to have seen it in 35mm at the belcourt, with the theater to myself but for Doug and two other attendees of the 9:20pm showing. I’m glad I went in with so little, and have been left with so much. I’ll have trouble hearing tezeta the same ever again.
