Insanely uncomfortable and insanely funny. It’s really brutal at times just like how fucked up this family dynamic is and it’s just done so convincingly by both the script and all the actors. Evan Rachel Wood is fantastic and makes the humor work so well. Everyone else is great too but she just really makes it all come together. A couple moments almost took me out but things just kept getting interesting and I really loved the ending. If it wasn’t so funny I probably would have cried a lot but it made me laugh every time I would have broken down.

Attack the Block 2011
Attack the Block is a ton of fun! John Boyega kills it and all of the side characters are great. The story is a pretty interesting take on the alien invasion genre. Honestly the only thing I didn’t really like was the design of the creatures, but that might be partly because of the limited effects on a 2011 movie with probably a fairly small budget.

Just fucking incredible. It’s shot beautifully. It’s absolutely heartbreaking. The three actors did such a good job of making it feel like the same person over the years. We get just enough time in each stage of life too. Don’t know how much I’ll rewatch this cause it’s heavy, but my god it was so good.
