  An epic. This was way more disturbing than I thought it would be. As pessimistic and depressing as The Shawshank redemption is hopeful and uplifting. Does a great job of building a character to root for and to slowly watch decay. 

  Every performance is perfect (wish Felicity Jones won an Oscar too) and the cinematography and music are just as good. 

  I know the ending is controversial but I loved it. Well worth the 3.5 hour runtime.
