It's sort of shitty how Marvel actually doesn't do that poor of a job developing respectable villains, with dangerous, albeit vulnerable goals. On the other hand, they're also so absolutely dog shit bad at developing compelling counterpart heroes.

I actually found Ultron to be sort of tragically poetic? He is the product of tech billionaires hope to "end war," prophetically driven by "visions." He can't help but hate humanity, though his mission was driven by humanity's own tragic relationship with themselves.

Nevertheless, the campy dialogue and poor fight choreography is enough to knock you to sleep.

    Sleepy; boring; tragic; prescient

Something is so haunting about this film. I realize the end scene is meant to bridge the divide between us (audience) and the palpable truth that evil is reflected all around us (even, and perhaps, especially, in us).

But the true haunting is that the reality is that Bong Joon-ho had hoped the killer that inspired this work would ultimately view his film. The killer, upon his arrest said, the chillingly psychopathic: “I just watched it as a movie, I had no emotion towards it.”
