Bumped this to a 3 from a 2.5 after watching the 70’s adaption. Seeing what an absolutely brutal snooze fest that was made Egger’s foray look much better in comparison. Found it a little bit too much of a typical Hollywood horror, once again disappointed that Egger’s didn’t lean into that weirdness he had in The Lighthouse. His films are always beautiful, if not perhaps a bit too technically perfect of late. The only thing I enjoyed about the 70’s version was how melancholic Orlock is played, could have used a bit of that here. Also was not keen on the moustache.

Prometheus 2012
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
This film was a write off as soon the woman got crushed by the giant space nose ring because she chose to run straight away rather than just stepping to the side.
Also loses marks for not having the alien that I came to see until the last few seconds. While it is nice to know other aliens are available, I do not want them.
Bonus penalty for that awful Idris Elba accent.
Watch the original Alien and Romulus and leave it at that.
