A foreign film that does it better than almost all of the American crime / mystery movie. Throughout the movie, you never really know who the suspect is, and you get the feeling he is hiding in plain sight. Around the middle of the movie I got a funny feeling that the killer would never be found and was beginning to lose hope, but you're always kept on the edge of your seat for basically the entire movie. Hands down one of the best films I have seen. Definitely took inspiration from eraserhead. Barry Lyndon would be happy to see these shots. It’s a wonderful life copied the plot (basically). And the fights were straight out of gladiator.
Great way to get back into the movie theater game. Silly and mysterious film that had excellent Lynchian freak vibes in a perfect little town, with a phenomenal soundtrack. All the characters were super interesting and different from each other too. Legally required to watch twin peaks now.
