I like watching movies where oddball, possibly autistic people with zero to no social skills find love and/or companionship and are all of a sudden magically accepted with no hitches. It’s a nice fantasy, unrealistic but nice. This isn’t one of those movies, this doesn’t shy away from the dark and hopeless nature of it all. I related a bit too much and it kinda hurt. On a brighter note it’s really good to see Daisy Ridley again, she was great in this!

Uhhhh… well thanks John Cena… for the uhhh recommendation. It sure is something.
I wonder if Cronenberg watched this and was a fan considering Marilyn Chambers went on to star in Rabid 5 years after. Also I did some reading up on this and apparently the directors, Jim and Artie Mitchell, were friends with Hunter S. Thompson. Thompson claimed in his book that they smuggled guns for the IRA. Oh and Jim ended up murdering Artie in 1991. Lots to think about lmao.

Hooptober 11: film 7/31
1 Michele Soavi film: 1/1
4 Italian films: 1/4Oh wow, this shit is fantastic! It almost feels criminal not hearing this brought up in conversation regarding slashers of this era, severely undermentioned! Everything from the score to the setting to the shot compositions, it’s all just stellar! Loved it!
