Crimes of Diogo Alves 1909
Possibly one of the first true-crime serial killer movies?
It's based on the story of a Spanish murderer that alledgedly killed up to 70 victims by throwing them out of an Aqueduct in Lisbon. These crimes are most probably an urban myth, as there is no source that confirms they actually happened. Still, it makes for a spooky story; the fact that his decapitated head is preserved in formaldehyde helps propagate it.
