"Our tapes have nothing to do with you."
Coppola's Watergate-era film is a metaphor that continues to shine light on the fact that having trouble separating your work from your personal life can yield the same results as a good old-fashioned bender. Those results - a destroyed home, delusional paranoia, foreboding guilt, and the need for a soothing saxophone session to calm the nerves. This film is a reminder for us not to fill in parts of a story we don’t fully understand.
