I was expecting more comedy and hijinks from a Preston Sturges film, though it picks up in the second half. I’m not sure Fonda was entirely convincing as a klutz, but Stanwyck was magnetic in her role.

It's been getting some hate in its post-Oscars glory, which I think is in part due to the attention it's receiving. I wish I had liked this one a bit more than I actually l did, since Chaplin's name carries a certain weight that demands attention and respect.
