Sasquatch Sunset 2024
what feels atmospheric and sketch-like just sets a mood for a harrowing adventure, and a gripping family drama. shouldn’t work, or should be way more b-movie and cult-like, and instead deeply humanistic, hilarious, and ingeniously performed by riley keaugh.

Mickey 17 2025
feels like a movie semi saved in editing. weird tonal whiplashes, excessive narration, nonlinear narrative w/out any real “reveal” at the heart of it. but, it all came to an excellent, true blockbuster head in the last forty minutes. terribly unfunny and veers close to “don’t look up” levels of hamfisted political satire. yet, Bong, who’s so good at climaxes, puts a killer bow on it. dripped out too.

Maid 2021
if you only listen to premade Spotify indie playlists I have the show for you
I cannot stand these generic contemporary DAW indie-adjacent scores that point to how you should feel (obviously all scores do this) but it’s used in lieu of actual characters and emotional narrative.

Adam Sandler: 100% Fresh 2018
no irony; this is the best directed stand up special I've seen and builds to such a vulnerable and sensitive sandler. oddly tragic and self aware. peak sandler and a howtoguide in how to stay within your broad comedy niche while being incredibly artistically viable
