A masterful portrait of Bob Dylan not so much as a man, but as the musical synthesis of the old folk greats and the unstoppable progressive force of the 1960s. You will not find an in-depth character exploration of Robert Zimmerman in this film. What you will find is even more impactful — a beautiful, dramatic retracing of both the influences that led him to start playing in dingy Greenwich Village coffee shops and the overwhelming force of rock-and-roll rebellion that propelled him to make the fateful choice of going electric.
